Title IX

Title IX Regulations

Title IX Defined: "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance." 20 U.S.C., 1681 et.seq. New Regulations under Title IX include sexual harassment.

The Alameda County Office of Education is committed to providing an education environment free of unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature including sexual advances, requests for sexual favor, and other verbal or physical conduct or communications constituting sexual harassment, as defined and otherwise prohibited by state and federal law.

Title IX Compliance Coordinators are responsible for receiving and processing formal complaints.
