Special Education Innovation

The Special Education Innovation Department is dedicated to transforming and elevating special education services throughout Alameda County by spearheading initiatives that enhance district capabilities and address critical challenges faced by neurodivergent students. Our primary goal is to identify and implement innovative strategies that bolster the effectiveness and efficiency of special education services, directly responding to the needs and concerns voiced by educators. By focusing on the equitable distribution and delivery of these services, we aim to refine and improve the overall functionality of general education and special education services, ensuring that every student, particularly those who have been marginalized or labeled as ‘other,’ receives the support and opportunities they deserve to thrive academically and socially.
